The wet weather conditions over the last couple of weeks culminating in Storm Ciarán have created atrocious ground conditions at Fawcetts Field.  We are not responsible for the weather.  We are, however, responsible for providing safe and well looked after facilities for our residents.

 

The sodden and muddy field was checked and considered inappropriate for a community event, bearing in mind audience safety, and the subsequent cost of reinstating the ground thereafter.

 

We have maintained contact with the Round Table throughout the last couple of weeks and the decision to cancel was not an easy one for both sides.

 

We understand that people were disappointed and that the Round Table volunteers had worked hard organising the event.

 

We have offered our full support to the Round Table should they wish to rearrange the event
