As the year comes to an end, I am honoured, as your mayor, to send you all my very best wishes for a wonderful Christmas and a prosperous and happy 2024.

 

Looking back over 2023 I am pleased to have taken part in so many community events with so many committed and dedicated people.  We live in a wonderful town with many great people and Community Groups striving to make life better for our residents, both young and old.

 

The afternoons of music were very well attended this year with record numbers turning out to see Total Madness, Dorsal Fin, the Wessex Military Band and The Strange Blues Band.   Our coronation event was a big success despite the rain, as many gathered to celebrate the crowning of King Charles III.

 

Remembrance Day, as ever, was a big event in the town with the younger and older generations gathering in large numbers to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.

 

I am looking forward to more engagements next year and to continuing to represent you as Mayor for the remainder of my tenure.

 

Once more, I wish you all a happy, healthy, and peaceful Christmas and the very best for 2024.
