New Milton Youth Trust was formed in 2019 with the aim of addressing the social welfare needs of all people aged 0 to 25 years old resident in New Milton and its surrounding areas. We will achieve this aim by supporting young people and their families to create projects and opportunities which will support them to develop knowledge, skills and experience to reach their full potential as active citizens.

We believe that children, young people and their families have the capacity to take the lead in identifying, developing and organising projects that benefit both them and the wider community. The role of the New Milton Youth Trust is to support them in this endeavour, by employing skilled staff to bring people together around the issues they are facing; to identify the root causes and take collective action to create sustainable solutions.

Part of the impetus of the formation of the Trust was to re-establish a building dedicated to children, young people and their families, which is owned and run by and for that community rather than a local authority. As a charity we are committed to ensuring that such a building exists well into the future. Currently the purchase of the land for this project is underway through New Milton Town Council and we are looking forward to working with them to ensure that the voices of children, young people and their families are heard as the building project evolves; in fact, we will be encouraging active involvement of this community.
